Who is Jackie?

Never having participated in athletics beyond high school marching band, Jackie discovered a passion for heavy lifting, CrossFit, and the transformative power of nutrition. Realizing she had more to offer than her sales desk job, she left her position to pursue a career as a nutrition and fitness coach. After losing her full-time job at a gym due to the pandemic in 2020—where she was both the nutrition coach and teens program manager—Jackie launched her online health coaching business, JMR Wellness. Her approach emphasizes body inclusivity and holistic health, focusing on what can be added to clients' lives to support their overall well-being, rather than solely on what they need to lose. She creates a safe space for athletes and clients, with many coming from neurodivergent, queer, and/or larger-bodied communities.

Jackie has been a strong advocate for inclusion in the fitness world, founding and running Denver’s first gender-neutral CrossFit competition and previously leading the LGBTQIA+ Fitness Community Group. She also serves as the secretary on the board of directors for FYR Denver (formerly Steve’s Club Denver), a nonprofit that provides fitness, nutrition, and mentorship to underserved youth.

In addition to fitness and coaching, Jackie likes to spend time camping with her 11 year old son, watching hockey with her husband, hiking with her dog, Nala, and reading with her cat, Bast.

Laughter and vulnerability is key to it all.
